SRE announces new name: Synera Renewable Energy

Taipei, November 15, 2022 -- Swancor Renewable Energy, the leading offshore wind developer in Taiwan, reveals a new company name “Synera Renewable Energy” today.

The new name reflects the company’s ambition to increase the development momentum and expand internationally. All members of SRE, now the abbreviation for Synera Renewable Energy, are looking forward to the new chapter of the company.

Entering yet another golden decade, SRE will continue working toward its vision and dedicating itself to the sustainable development of the industry, Taiwan, the Asia-Pacific region, and even the world.

Lucas Lin, the chairperson of SRE, stated, “The new company name ‘Synera’ is derived from the words synergy and era. It faithfully reflects how our team members have worked together in solidarity over the past decade to navigate challenges and stand at the forefront of a new era of offshore wind power.”

He added, “SRE is grateful for all the encouragement and support we have received throughout the journey. We are now at a turning point in the evolution of renewable energy. The new name is expected to breathe new life into our business; strengthen our role as a pioneering leader in the local market; and better position our brand in the international market. We are eager to contribute to a more sustainable future for all.”

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) is now fully engaged in Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development. The experience of developing, building, operating, and maintaining offshore wind farms in northwestern Taiwan will be put to good use in the company’s two large offshore wind projects–Formosa 4 and Formosa 5, with the latter being the only floating offshore wind farm eligible to compete for the development right and expected to usher in a new era of Taiwan’s offshore wind development.
