SRE opens new overseas office in Hamburg, Germany to fortify ties with European markets and attract global talents

Taipei, December 14, 2023 – Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE Group), the pioneering offshore wind developer in Asia, announced the opening of its first European office in Hamburg, Germany this month, marking the group’s second overseas office after its Tokyo branch inaugurated earlier this year.

SRE Group has been advancing offshore wind power in Taiwan for over ten years, establishing itself as one of the few developers in Asia with a proven track record across the life cycle of offshore wind farms. Its third large project, Formosa 4, which was awarded capacity at the end of 2022 is now expediting the preparation for construction. The group is also gearing up for the next auction slated for the upcoming spring for its new projects, Formosa 6 and Formosa 7.

As SRE’s pipeline grows, so does its demand for green talents for projects in Taiwan and beyond. Against this backdrop, the Hamburg Office was established not only to offer international employees more flexibility and a space for gatherings and business meetings, but also to attract more mid-senior-level to senior-level professionals to join. The aim is to build a robust global talent pool for offshore wind development in Taiwan and the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Furthermore, strengthening the presence in Hamburg, a renewable energy hub in Germany and a commercial hub for offshore wind power in Europe, will also help the group fortify ties with the most mature offshore wind markets.

Anna Su, CEO of SRE Group, stated, “With years of solid track record and a steadfast commitment to drive the energy transition across the Asia-Pacific, we have earned a good reputation and created a model for developing, building, operating, and maintaining offshore wind farms that can adapt to the local environment and industry. Our team comprises top-tier professionals from around the world, and we are confident that SRE is undoubtedly the optimal choice for talents looking to join the offshore wind sector in the Asia-Pacific.”

“We will continue investing in talent development and expanding the workforce to bolster our offshore wind team’s global expertise to address challenges accompanied by the continued growth of our business,” added Su.

SRE Group has been and will continue recruiting top talents globally and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where its multicultural team can grow and thrive to support the group’s aspiration of accelerating the renewable energy transition across the Asia-Pacific.
